Glossy: What Will an Independent Yeezy Look Like?
“A king can’t live in someone else’s castle. A king has to make his own castle.” - Kanye West
Rapper, producer, and designer, Ye, formerly known as Kanye West has announced the end of his partnership with retail mogul Gap. Ye is turning his focus to making his brand, Yeezy, independent of corporate America by shifting to from an online to brick-and-mortar focused shopping experience for fans.
Our VP of Strategy, Kevin Goodwin was recently featured in Glossy, a daily publication exploring the intersection of fashion, luxury, and technology, where he shared his perspective on a shift toward prioritizing a brick-and-mortar shopping experience.
It’s not a bad idea to explore retail, although maintaining a relationship with customers through digital would be the wiser path. It’s a much easier way to stay in touch with your consumer and do that with remarkable frequency. You have email, website, social and so on, to reach them and communicate brand values and new products — as well as keep your brand top of mind without having to enter your store.Kevin Goodwin, VP of Strategy
