Client Strategy Director - Seattle

Seattle, WA - Full-time

New Engen is an integrated marketing agency with unique offerings that combine creative horsepower and technology-driven media services. We are innovative, business impact-minded, strategic partners for our clients and partners. We take an idea-led approach that gets sustained results in advertising channels by using technology to accelerate the pace of marketing adaptation.

With minimal funding to date, New Engen has six offices nationwide, and we are currently operating with over 150 virtual "at-home" offices. We celebrate, support and embrace different ideas, people, cultures and beliefs for the benefit of our employees, clients, partners, and community. We are committed to equal employment opportunity and diversity.

Our heritage is deep in performance-based digital marketing. But we do not think in terms of digital vs traditional strategies, tactics, or programs, because all marketing is now effectively digital, in that the same technologies that have driven digital marketing for the past 20 years (targeting, iteration, measurement, etc.) now undergird all ad channels to different degrees. The expertise we’ve honed in the digital trenches now serves us well in supporting the full breadth of our clients’ marketing needs.

Want to be a part of the marketing evolution? Want to be part of a dynamic and diverse team of passionate marketers? Well come join us!

The Opportunity

New Engen is seeking an energetic service-oriented leader to steer our Client Strategy Team (CST) towards greater growth and impact for our customers, partners and employees. CST acts as a hub between our Media, Creative and Sales & Marketing teams, coordinating and curating services, strategies, and value props into compelling sales and marketing stories that lead to better marketing outcomes, new clients and new revenue. This includes communicating complex strategies and insights that are easily digestible for decision makers and influencers within a brand’s organization.

How you’ll make a difference

Leadership. The CST Director’s primary role is to coach, mentor, grow and inspire a team of CST associates with a variety of subject matter expertise, while balancing competing priorities and partnering with multiple senior leaders across Sales, Marketing, Media, Creative and Insights & Strategy. The CST Director is a key contributor to determining New Engen’s vision to drive short and long-term client satisfaction and revenue growth.

Sales Strategy. This is a Sales & Marketing focused role and the Client Strategy Director will act as a player coach engaging with our most strategic clients and prospects while building and leading the team in the following activities…

  • Qualifying leads - Works to understand previous and future investment in paid digital marketing channels, approximates staffing needs, and channel growth opportunities.
  • Participating in discovery calls - Works alongside the Sales team to ask strategic and tactical questions about prospective client’s marketing programs with a goal of uncovering the prospects needs and desires. This process includes, but is not limited to, learning about the prospects’ motivations, business objectives, vendor assessment process, internal and external channels and current strategy.
  • Solution proposal & presentation – Taking what we’ve learned during qualification and discovery and translating that into a compelling and tailored story for the prospect. CST members take center stage demonstrating New Engen’s expertise and marketing thought leadership and strategy.
  • Supporting the final stages of the selling process – Partner with Sales to push leads across the finish line with whatever follow-ups a client may ask for. The Client Strategy Associate will be responsible for any strategic or tactical marketing follow ups, such as projections, crafting content and managing through objections, developing implementation timelines and more.
  • · Partner with Media and Creative teams to facilitate positive new client onboarding process - During the sales process, CST members inherently build a strategic relationship with the partner that establishes both relational credibility and a common strategic language. As such, it will be important for CST members to remain engaged for some of the onboarding process. At a minimum, this will look like internally syncing and providing knowledge transfer to the final team. For strategic accounts and opportunities, this could be participating in team meetings and keeping a strategic eye on the program for the first few months of onboarding.
  • · Strategic support for ongoing relationships – Often times, a second pair of eyes provides a great deal of value and strategy for partners. CST will also help strategic accounts in a variety of manners ranging from consulting on QBR’s, performing internal opportunity assessments, or generally providing a set of experienced eyes upon an account.

Agency Marketing & Content. Your secondary role as the Client Strategy Director is to lead the team in translating New Engen’s strategy and expertise into broader POV’s and narratives. This includes developing content for our blog, industry publications, social media and email, in order to support engagement with existing customers and prospects from the top to the bottom of our funnel.

Media Services Collaboration. For the high value opportunities that require additional strategy support, the Client Strategy Director will also lead the team in collaborating with Media and Creative teams providing the highest quality presentations & strategy materials for our active clients and partners.
